Whether you enjoy the heat or not, the summer is coming to a close but there’s still quite a few things to enjoy before it ends including the Peterborough Folk Festival. Festivals and concerts are some of the best ways to end the season and quite a few are happening in August.

Among the concerts and festivals happening, a few are the Peterborough Music Fest, the Summer Concert Series at the Riverview Park and Zoo, Concerts in the Park, World War One Tour, and the Peterborough Folk Festival. We at Peterborough Subaru are co-sponsoring the Peterborough Folk Festival this year as it is celebrating its 30th anniversary, which means even better artists than last year.

The Folk Festival goes from August 15th to the 18th at 725 Armour Rd, Peterborough ON. This Festival is free for entry, but donations are encouraged to keep this festival going. Up on the lineup for the Folk Festival is William Prince on the 15th, Donovan Woods & the Opposition on the 16th, A Tribe Called Red on the 17th, Paper Shakers to be announced, Matt Mays on the 18th, Kathleen Edwards on the 18th and Fred Penner also on the 18th

The Folk Festival also likes to recognize emerging artists, local talent who deserve some recognition and support from the community. Applicants must be solo artists, groups, or bands and must live in Peterborough & The Kawarthas and under the age of 30. Sign up on the website:

Come out and support local music, food, and craft vendors.
